New Jersey is largely planned for travel by car. However, New Brunswick is fairly big city and has a wide range of public transport options available. It is very well connected with New York, Philadelphia and other major cities by train and buses. Here are some of the options available for local travel.

  1. A bus has been chartered to bring participants from Heldrich Hotel, New Brunswick, to Busch Campus in the morning and return them in the afternoon. It takes about 10 minutes to cover this distance of about 4 miles and the bus will run back and forth between the two locations in the mornings and afternoons.

  2. Campus buses run quite frequently from close to Heldrich Hotel to Busch Campus Center, which is close to the conference venue. Details and schedules are available at rudots.rutgers.edu/campusbuses.shtml and at 848-932-7817. There is no charge for the use of these buses for university personnel and guests.

  3. Taxicabs are easily available to go across town or from one town to another. Several taxicab companies, such as All Brunswick (732-545-0900), AAA Taxi NJ (732-214-1111) and Yellow Cabs (732-246-2222), operate in this area.

  4. Buses to New York are frequent. Details and schedules are available at www.coachusa.com.

  5. Trains to New York are also available throughout the day, leaving every half an hour. Details are at www.njtransit.com.

  6. Airport shuttles can be used to go to the airports like Newark and JFK, or trains can be used, as described on this web site. Taxis are also available for airport transportation.
