Arrival and
Departure:
The taxi service from the Airport to Dedeman Hotel is
available at all hours and at a cost of approximately
15 Euros, one way, in daytime (double charge after
midnight). The distance is about 15 km.
The Tourism Agency,
PAMFILYA, will, on request, meet participants
arriving at Antalya Airport, but the cost can be higher
than that of a taxi. If you wish to have Pamfilya’s
service, you must use the Travel Schedule in the
Registration Form (html,
doc,
pdf) to inform the ICHMT Secretariat well in advance
about your flight schedule, complete with date and time
of your arrival and the name of the airline. PAMFILYA
will provide transportation to and from the airport
directly to
Dedeman Hotel.

During this sightseeing
and shopping tour, old city of Antalya including the
award winning Kaleici Marina, and Beach Park
will be visited. In the old city you will find the opportunity
to explore the old winding cobbled streets searching
for their hidden treasures in the form of silver and
copperware, leather, carpets and souvenirs. You can
also see many fine examples of typical Ottoman architecture.

Perge Ancient Roman City, Aspendos Theatre,

Perge, at 18
km east of Antalya is the area that the Hittites settled
in 1500 BC; and St. Paul stopped during one of his journeys.
In Perge ancient Roman city, you will be able to see
some fine examples of the old colonnaded streets, agora,
bath, stadium and theatre. Continuing
a little further to the east will bring you to the site
of one of the best preserved amphitheatres of all times,
Aspendos; which today is still used for many live performances
of ballet, opera and classical works of art due to its
fabulous acoustics and large seating capacity of 15,000.
Last stop of the tour before the
lunch will be the Kursunlu waterfalls. All the
streams in the region aim to find their way to the Mediterranean
Sea and they flow down the slopes of the Taurus Mountains,
sometimes overland, sometimes underground; and sometimes
they form lovely waterfalls. Among the seven major waterfalls
in the region, Kursunlu is the loveliest.
After the lunch at in a local
restaurant , the tour will continue with visit to Antalya
Archaeological Museum which houses artifacts from the
Paleolithic Age to Ottoman times offering a glimpse
of the area's rich history.

Boat Tour to Phaselis

Departure from
the hotel by bus. After a drive along the 42 km. of
purple hued mountain scenic road, arival to Kemer Marina
and you will board the boat for the cruise to the ancient
city of Phaselis, which was once a major trade centre
with its three separate harbours. In the area there
are many fine examples of aqueducts, agoras, baths and
a theatre - all emphasize the city's historical importance.
The sheltered pebble beaches around the bays are delightful
and the sea is shallow, calm and safe for swimmers.
After an open buffet lunch on
board, the boat will set sail for the next stop: Three
Islands, which is an island group formed by three small
islands with little coves where boats are allowed to
enter for a swimming break. The last stop before returning
to Kemer will be the Alaca Water, a very
pretty inlet and ideal for a swimming break. (For the

Departure from
the hotel by bus. After arrival at Alanya, the tour
starts with boat trip, which takes you out to the sea
along the side of the old dockyards heading towards
the three sea grottos: the Phosphorus Cave with its
phosphorescent rocks; the Girls Cave, where pirates
imprisoned their female captives; and the Lovers Cave,
whose entrance is 2 meters high from sea level and partially
blocked by stalactites and stalagmites. After
the boat trip, the next highlight of the tour is the
Damlatas Cave, which is located at the foot of
the small rocky peninsula which also hosts the old city
centre and the magnificent old Seljuk fortress built
on the edge of the cliff top. Kizilkule and the
fortress area will be the next place visited where you
will see the ruins of a cistern and a Byzantine church,
and the beautiful aerial view of Alanya Area including
the surrounding bays and sandy beaches. A late lunch
will be taken in a typical Turkish Restaurant.

Side City Tour and Boat Tour along Manavgat

After driving to Side
and visiting the town, which is rich in archaeological
sites and shopping opportunities, drive to Manavgat
area and board one of the small tourist gullets to take
a trip down the Manavgat river, where at various points
you may also have the opportunity for a short swim.
If you are lucky, you will also see some of the turtles
which inhabit the area. Thereafter, you will visit the
small but picturesque waterfalls, which offer a peaceful
and cool heaven in the heat of the summer. Lunch will
be taken on board. Beverages are included.(For the tour,

Rafting

The tour will begin with departure
to the rafting area at Köprülü River
where experienced rafters will provide a full safety
instruction briefing. Rafting will begin after changing
into provided rafting gears. Even though not for the
faint hearted - as some of the waters are fast flowing
rapids - it is safe for all family members from an age
of eight and upwards. Experienced rafters accompany
all of the rafts. The total length of the course is
approximately 15 km.Halfway down the course, a lunch
break will be taken on the banks of the river, where
you can share your excitement and experience with your
fellow rafters. During the course, stops at the Hidden
Canyon and Beskonak Castle will be made." People

the scenic roads of the Taurus Mountain range, where

Turkish house, sampling the simplistic village life,
and enjoying the warmth and hospitality of the locals.After
a long and dusty drive along the winding country roads,
a refreshing swim may be more than welcome, this being
possible in the cool clear spring river waters that
run through the valleys between the mountains. Lunch
will be taken in a local restaurant during the tour.As
this trip is bumpy any dusty, it is considered best
for those aging 25-40 years and who are fairly fit."

Termessos and Düden

Termessos is perhaps the most
interesting ancient city in the Antalya region, a Psidian
city built at a height of 1050 meters on the Taurus
Mountains. Termessos constitutes an unusual synthesis
of a large number of rare plant and animal species,
which are under protection in the Termessos National
Park.What is known of their history commences principally
at the time of Alexander the Great, who surround the
city in 333 BC likened to an eagle's nest, but he failed
to conquer.Termessos, after a gradual decline, was abandoned
by the 5th century AD. Some of the remains found there
are the walls, Hadron's Triumphal Arch, cisterns, theatre,
gymnasium, agora, odeon, heron and thousands of sarcophagi
at Necropolis.The tour continues for a break at Duden
Waterfalls.(For the tour, walking shoes, hat, sunglasses

Day 1: June 11,2005
Early-morning departure from Hotel Dedeman to Konya
(one of Turkey's oldest continuously inhabited cities,
known as Iconium in Roman times. The capital of the
Selcuk Turks from the 12th to the 13th centuries, it
ranks as one of the greatest cultural centres of Turkey)
by coach. Sightseeing at the Mausoleum of Mevlana (mystic
Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi founded a Sufi Order known in
the West as the Whirling Dervishes). The striking green-tiled
Mausoleum of Mevlana is Konya's most famous building.
Lunch in Konya. Upon arrival to Cappadocia area, visit
to the underground city of Kaymakli and Uchisar fortress.
Dinner and overnight stay in Cappadocia.
Day 2: June 12,2005
Breakfast and early-morning departure to Goreme
and Zelve areas. The towns are set right in the middle
of a valley of cones and fairy chimneys. Restaurant
lunch. Sightseeing in Avanos (situated on the banks
of the Kizilirmak river, displaying attractive local
architecture and is known for its handcrafts). Return
to hotel for dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 3: June 13,2005
After breakfast, check out from the hotel, sightseeing
at Sultanhan (a kervansaray built by the Seljuk Sultan
Alaeddin Keykubat in the early 13th century and favourite
stop for tourists), lunch in Konya and return drive
to Antalya. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel in
Antalya.
Day 4: June14,2005
The Post-Conference tour ends after breakfast with
transfers to Antalya Airport.
The participants should book

Departure from hotel to Fethiye by coach. Tea-break
en-route in Finike, which is a delightful city of orange
groves. On the way, we will see the wonderful views
of the azureblue sea and the Toros Mountains. Arrival
to Demre. Visit of St. Nicholas Church in Demre, which
is the ancient city of Myra and is especially known
for Noel Baba (St. Nicholas), who was the Bishop of
this Mediterranean City during the 4th century and who
later died here in 325. Every year in December 6th,
the Santa Claus (Father Christmas) Commemoration Ceremony
is held, attracting many tourists, who spend their Christmas
holidays on the sunny coast of ancient Lycia. Lunch
will be taken at the Restaurant in Demre.
Departure to Fethiye. We will visit the remains of Kayakoy
and the grave of king Amyntas, before driving to the
most beautiful bay in Turkey; Ölüdeniz (Dead
Sea) where you will have time for leisure and swimming
in the this delightful bay with its cool, calm water.-Continue
driving to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Fethiye.
Day 2: June 12, 2005
Departure from hotel. After a city tour of Fethiye,
a stop will be made at a typical Turkish carpet factory.
Visit of Saklýkent (The Hidden City) Canyon.
Lunch will be taken at the Kayýp Cennet Restaurant
in the Hidden City. Overnight stay in Dedeman Hotel-
Antalya.
Day 3: June 13, 2005
The Post-Conference tour ends after the breakfast
with transfers to Antalya Airport.

GENERAL
CONDITIONS FOR CANCELLATION OF THE POST- CONFERENCE
TOURS
1-In case of cancellations
made by participants after April 4th, 2005, a
handling charge of USD 100.- per person will be deducted
and the remainder of the deposit will be refunded by
PAMFILYA.
2-The tours will be operated
with a minimum of 10 persons. For reservations below
this minimum number, a new tour price according to the
number of requests will be announced after April
5th, 2005. If the participants do not accept the
new tour price, the tour will be cancelled, and a handling
fee of USD 20.-- per person will be deducted, which
may be used as a credit for another excursion, and the
remainder of the deposit will be refunded by Pamfilya.
3-Pamfilya Tourism Inc.
can provide additional services before and/or after
the tours provided that requests are made well in advance,
preferably together with the tour booking. Please contact
Pamfilya Tourism Inc. for other tourist services such
as car rentals, international tickets, hotel reservations,
yachting, special-interest tours, and private tours.
